Are You Grateful?

Every day should be Thanksgiving.

Kindness, Thankfulness, and Generosity in equal parts, blended together, is the alchemy needed for harmony and peaceful coexistence.

The words, ‘thank you,’ ‘I give thanks,’  ‘I’m grateful for,’ send out good vibrations to both the messenger and recipient of these encouraging words.

Let’s take a look at wise words on moments of gratitude.

‘I can no other answer make, but thanks, and thanks’ ~ Shakespeare, Twelfth Night

‘Oh Lord that lends me life, lend me a life replete with thankfulness’~ Shakespeare, Henry V1, Part 2  (This is quoted in Vindication Across Time

‘May the work of your hands be the sign of gratitude and reverence to the human condition. ~ Mahatma Gandhi

‘…Any who is grateful does so for the profit of his own soul’ ~ Surah AL-Luqman 31:12

‘Always be rejoicing, Give thanks for everything’ ~ Thessalonians 5:16, 18

‘When eating bamboo sprouts, remember the man who planted them’ ~ Chinese proverb

‘Whenever I am offered in devotion with a pure heart, – a leaf, a flower, fruit or water – I accept with joy.’ ~ Bhagavad Gita

‘What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.’ ~ Nelson Mandela

So what am I giving thanks for in my life? Firstly it’s the gratitude I feel for having a loving family, caring friends,  amazing students, the realisation of my creative dream, supportive readers, and followers.

A Simple Thanks, Goes a Long Way

If there is a lesson I reflect upon with gratitude- it is injustice – this has infused my soul with how one should never mistreat, abuse and slander the kindness of others. My writing speaks from my soul with gratitude for finding my voice.

Thanksgiving is my everyday quiet moment, my soulful to-go to place.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving. Continue to exude love, kindness, acceptance, tolerance, and understanding. Above All: continue SMILING, it gives others permission to smile too, that you acknowledge them, that you see them.

What are you truly grateful for today?
